Conventions of Promotional Websites

Promotional Websites are used as a means to promote something, usually a movie. They may do this by having online shops, online games or intaractive images that serve as a way to entice to viewer to that particular site.

A couple of examples I can think of that use the previous techniques that I mentioned would be the Kingsman: The Golden Circle website and the Jumanji website. Both of these websites have an online game and shop, but also come with feature that make them stand out from one another.

Another point to mention would be that the games that are included on these webistes have their own unique names. For the Golden Circle website, the game's name is the same as the movie itself, and for the Jumanji website, it's Rhino Run.

The Golden Circle Homepage consists of a hero image showcasing the five main characters and the movie logo, with the various website links at the top of the screen. There isn't very much of a background.

The Jumanji Homepage includes background audio (which you can disable by using the speaker icon on the top-left hand corner of the page), animated content which includes rushing water and a pulsing Jumanji logo. There is also a cast list and a hero image of the four main characters.
